Authentic Tyrannosaurus Rex Premax, Lance Formation, Wyoming
A genuine Tyrannosaurus rex premaxillary tooth, recovered from the Lance Formation in Weston County, Wyoming, dating to the Late Cretaceous, roughly 66 million years old. This 1.59" specimen showcases beautiful deep brown coloring throughout the crown.
Found on our dig in May 2024, the tooth was found in two pieces and has been carefully glued back into place. There is some minor peeling of the enamel near the break, which we've disclosed here for full transparency.
A striking, richly colored piece for any dinosaur fossil collection, and a genuine artifact of the T. rex's world at the very end of the Age of Dinosaurs.
Tyrannosaurus rex was the apex predator of its time, roaming the river valleys and floodplains of western North America near the end of the Cretaceous Period. Growing over 40 feet long with a massive skull and bone-crushing bite, T. rex preyed on large herbivores like Triceratops and Edmontosaurus. Its keen sense of smell, forward-facing eyes for depth perception, and powerful legs made it both an efficient hunter and scavenger. Fossil evidence suggests these giants lived in a warm, seasonal environment teeming with life an ecosystem they ruled until the very end of the dinosaur era.
