Nanotyrannus tooth 1.73"
This Nanotyrannus tooth was found near the surface, where grass and roots tangle through the soil. Years of exposure to plant growth and the natural elements have left it scratched and weathered, the side facing away from the surface has a slight shine from its thin enamel. Despite the wear, you can still make out serrations along the edges. Fossils found this close to the surface often show signs of nature’s rough handling, while those buried deeper, away from roots and moisture, are usually much better preserved.
No repair or restoration.
Nanotyrannus is a small, fast-moving tyrannosaur from the Late Cretaceous, found in the Lance Formation of Wyoming. Estimated to reach about 20 feet long, it had a slender build, a narrow skull, and more teeth than T. rex.
