Nanotyrannus tooth 1.29"
This Nanotyrannus tooth was found deeper than others in the same location, protecting it better from the harsh elements and plant damage. It has a beautiful deep brown coloration, a pointy tip and sharp serrations; This is an exceptional tooth. Unfortunately the tip was broken off, but it was carefully repaired. No restoration.
Nanotyrannus is a small, fast-moving tyrannosaur from the Late Cretaceous, found in the Lance Formation and Hell Creek Formation. Estimated to reach about 20 feet long, it had a slender build, a narrow skull, and more teeth than T. rex. Some paleontologists believe it’s a distinct species, while others argue it’s simply a juvenile T. rex—making it one of the most hotly debated dinosaurs in paleontology.
