Muonionalusta Meteorite Stick Studs Earrings
These sleek, modern stud earrings feature slim rectangular bars of authentic Muonionalusta meteorite, offering a clean and minimalist design with a story that spans billions of years. Subtle yet extraordinary, each earring highlights the unmistakable Widmanstätten pattern, a natural crystalline structure that reveals the meteorite’s extraterrestrial origin. They have been treated with rhodium for long-lasting durability.
Their geometric simplicity makes them a versatile choice for everyday wear, while the cosmic backstory makes them anything but ordinary.
About the Meteorite:
The Muonionalusta meteorite is a fine octahedrite iron-nickel meteorite that fell to Earth over one million years ago, discovered in 1906 in northern Sweden near the Arctic Circle. It is believed to be one of the oldest materials on Earth, having formed more than 4.5 billion years ago in the core of an ancient asteroid during the birth of our solar system.
The beautiful Widmanstätten pattern seen on the surface is a unique feature of iron meteorites. It formed as molten metal cooled extremely slowly—at a rate of only a few degrees per million years—in the vacuum of space. This process can’t be reproduced on Earth, making every pair of earrings truly one-of-a-kind.
