About the Meteorite:
The Muonionalusta meteorite is a fine octahedrite iron-nickel meteorite, believed to be one of the oldest materials ever discovered on Earth. It formed more than 4.5 billion years ago in the core of an early planetary body during the solar system's formation. After a long journey through space, it landed in northern Sweden over a million years ago, where it was first discovered in 1906.
The visible Widmanstätten pattern on these earrings is a naturally occurring arrangement of iron and nickel crystals, formed as the metal cooled extremely slowly—just a few degrees every million years—in the vacuum of space. This remarkable pattern cannot be replicated on Earth, making each pair entirely unique.
