A well-preserved Mosasaurus tooth with its roots intact, embedded in its original matrix. While the crown has a few visible cracks and so does the matrix, they have been expertly stabilized for preservation.

Mosasaurs, part of the family Mosasauridae, were the top ocean predators during the Late Cretaceous, around 66–70 million years ago. Think of them as giant, sea-dwelling lizards with powerful jaws and paddle-like limbs. The genus Mosasaurus, the namesake of the group, is among the most famous. Fossils found in Morocco offer a fascinating glimpse into their world, where they hunted fish, squid, and even other marine reptiles. These creatures truly ruled their ancient seas!
