Genuine Gebel Kamil Meteorite in Glass Dome

Own a piece from out of this world. The Gebel Kamil meteorite struck the remote desert of southern Egypt less than 5,000 years ago, blasting out the Kamil Crater, a near perfect bowl about 150 feet wide and 50 feet deep. The crater sat unnoticed until 2009, when it was spotted in satellite imagery, and it is now considered one of the best preserved small impact craters on Earth. Holding this fragment means holding a piece of a cosmic impact that happened while the ancient Egyptians were building their civilization along the Nile.

You are not just looking at a rock, you are looking at a frozen moment in cosmic history. Classified as an Iron, Ungrouped Ataxite, this nickel-rich meteorite shattered on impact into thousands of sharp, twisted shrapnel pieces, and its rugged surface still carries the marks of that violent explosion. Unlike most iron meteorites, Gebel Kamil is a rare ataxite, a structure so rich in nickel that it formed in the deep core of an asteroid and remains one of the most unusual iron types known. Beautifully presented in an elegant glass dome, it arrives ready to display and admire. A truly iconic addition to any collection.
