This well-preserved chewing tooth displays the classic triangular crown used by Triceratops to grind down fibrous prehistoric plants. Part of the root has been professionally glued to maintain stability, but the enamel remains solid and sharply defined. Triceratops replaced its teeth throughout its life, and this specimen offers a direct link to how these massive herbivores fed and survived in a landscape they shared with Tyrannosaurus rex.

The Triceratops, a well-known dinosaur, lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 68 to 66 million years ago. This herbivorous species is distinguished by its large body, strong legs, and three prominent facial horns - one on the nose and two above the eyes. The most striking feature of Triceratops is its large skull, which includes a solid frill at the back. This frill, combined with the horns, was likely used for defense against predators, as well as for display and species recognition among fellow Triceratops. Fossil evidence indicates that these dinosaurs could grow up to 30 feet in length and weigh between 6 to 12 tons.
