Fossil Great White Peru 2.25"

This Great White shark tooth displays attractive semi-gloss enamel, intact tip and very sharp serrations. The root is cracked, but overall it remains a striking specimen.

Fossilized Great White Shark (Carcharodon carcharias) teeth from Peru are found in marine deposits dating to the Miocene–Pliocene, roughly 5–10 million years ago. These fossils reveal the long evolutionary history of the species, showing the same broad, triangular shape and finely serrated edges seen in modern Great Whites. The deposits along the Peruvian coast are especially rich in marine life, preserving a record of ancient ecosystems where these apex predators thrived. Studying these fossils helps paleontologists understand how the Great White adapted over millions of years and maintained its role as one of the ocean’s top hunters.
