Woolly Mammoth Hair

This sample is a prime example of Pleistocene Woolly Mammoth Hair, which has been carefully collected from the region of Siberia.

Woolly mammoths had a dense, shaggy coat of hair up to three feet long, with a soft underlayer and a coarse outer layer. This fur, varying in color from dark brown to blonde, provided excellent insulation against the freezing Ice Age climate, helping them survive harsh conditions.
