Clump of El Cazador Shipwreck Coins

Check out these ‘pieces of eight’ or 8 reales coins that were recovered from the wreck of the El Cazador.
It was a Spanish ship that sunk in the Gulf of Mexico in 1784. It was accidentally discovered by a trawler in 1993 when their nets snagged on part of the wreck. When they recovered their net it had scooped up a bunch coins! After more than 200 years on the bottom of the Gulf, they became frozen in time and fused together. What a neat piece of history!
