The Oceanic Blacktip Shark (Carcharhinus limbatus), not to be confused with the Oceanic Whitetip Shark, is a fast-swimming and agile species commonly found in warm coastal waters around the world. They are distinguished by their sleek, streamlined bodies, long pointed snouts, and distinctive black tips on their fins, especially on the first dorsal and lower caudal fins. Typically, these sharks grow to about 1.5 to 2 meters (5 to 6.5 feet) in length. They have a grayish to blue color on the upper side and a white underside, aiding in camouflage. Oceanic Blacktip Sharks are known for their energetic feeding behavior, often breaching the water's surface when attacking schools of fish. Their diet primarily includes small fish, cephalopods, and crustaceans. These sharks are viviparous, with females giving birth to live young.
